Riccitelli Milano develops and manufactures womenswear in Italy for fashion brands: ready to wear, tailoring, dresses, separates, outerwear and knitwear, produced across the Italian workshops where each of those crafts is strongest. A brand hires us and we produce the collection, answering for the result at every stage.
Womenswear is not one category. It is a dozen crafts that have to arrive on the same rail, in the same season, reading as one collection. Coordinating that is the actual work, and it is what a production agency exists to do.
What makes womenswear difficult to produce
Fit carries the whole product. Womenswear is judged on how it sits, and the tolerance is far tighter than in most other categories. A pattern that works on a size 40 can fail entirely at the ends of the range, which is why the size set has to be proven on real bodies rather than assumed from a grading rule.
Every category has its own supply chain. A tailored jacket, a knitted dress and a silk blouse are made in three different places by three different specialists. A brand working alone ends up managing three calendars, three quality standards and three sets of excuses.
Coherence is a production problem, not a design one. A collection reads as coherent when the blacks match across categories, the finishing logic is consistent and the fit is recognisably from one hand. That is decided in production, through shared colour references and construction standards, not in the sketch.
What we produce
Ready to wear across the full range, from jersey and shirting to structured pieces. Tailoring: jackets, blazers, trouser suits and separates with proper canvas construction. Dresses, from day pieces to eveningwear and couture. Outerwear and coats in wool, cashmere and technical cloth. Knitwear in fine and heavy gauge. Denim, leather, lingerie, swimwear and the accessories that finish a look.
All of it coordinated by one team, on one calendar, with one person answering when something needs a decision.
Fit and sizing, done properly
The base pattern is drafted, cut, hung and corrected before anything is graded. The size set is then made and fitted across the range, because grading rules are a starting point and not a guarantee: a shoulder that works at one end of the range often does not at the other.
Once the fit is signed off it becomes a block you own, which is what makes the second season faster and cheaper than the first. Read more about pattern making and grading.

Cloth
We buy from the Italian houses that supply the best tailoring rooms in the world, and we choose weight, finish and hand against what each garment has to do. Colour is matched across categories from a single reference, so the black of a coat, a knit and a trouser are the same black on the rail. Shrinkage and colour fastness are tested, quantities booked in time, and consumption measured on the real garment. See fabric sourcing in Italy.
How a womenswear collection runs
Concept and design, then materials and sourcing, then technical development with flats, patterns, grading and a tech pack, then sampling and fit through to an approved sample, then production with quality control against that sample at every stage, finishing, packing and delivery.
You can hand us the whole journey or bring us in for a single stage.
Quantities
Minimums are set per product rather than per client, because a structured jacket and a jersey dress do not carry the same constraints. That is how a brand can produce a capsule collection at a sensible scale and grow the run once it proves itself. See low minimum order production.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do you produce a full womenswear collection or single categories?
Both. Many brands come for one category, usually tailoring or outerwear, and expand once the fit and the finishing are proven. Others hand over the whole range from the start. The advantage of the full range is coherence: the same colour references, the same finishing logic and the same fit language across categories.
How do you handle sizing and grading?
The base pattern is drafted, cut, hung and corrected first. Then the size set is made and fitted across the range rather than trusted to a grading rule, because a shoulder or an armhole that works in the middle of the range often fails at the ends. Once signed off, that block belongs to you.
Can you match colour across different categories?
Yes, and it is one of the main reasons to produce a range through one partner. Colour is matched from a single physical reference and tested for fastness, so a coat, a knit and a trouser read as the same black on the rail instead of three near misses.
What does a first womenswear collection cost to develop?
It depends on the categories, the constructions and the number of styles, which is why a figure quoted before those are known means nothing. Send the range plan and the quantities and we come back with what it takes to build it and on what calendar.
How long does a womenswear collection take?
Usually three to six months from approved design to delivered production. Tailoring and outerwear need the longest development, jersey and knitwear the shortest, and cloth availability is the most common variable, which is why materials are booked early.
Do you work with brands based outside Italy?
Yes. Most of the brands we produce for are based abroad and come to Italy for the making. The whole process runs in English, samples and corrections travel, and fittings are handled remotely when a client cannot be in Milan.
Who owns the patterns?
You do. The designs and the patterns developed for your brand belong to you, and your collection is produced exclusively for your label.
