Production at volume, made in Italy
Production at volume in Italy, on a supply chain we control
Riccitelli Milano produces collections in Italy for brands that order in volume. We control the whole made in Italy chain behind each programme, from the yarn to the packed garment, and we confirm the capacity in writing before an order is placed.
Our workshops, mills and specialists are not published anywhere. They are part of the service a brand buys from us, and keeping them private is what lets us plan their calendars for our clients season after season. The brand deals with one team in Milan and one calendar.
Produced in Italy, answered for in Milan
One chain, one responsible party
Yarn, fabric, development, making, finishing and delivery are placed, followed and checked by our team. We answer for the result at every stage, so the brand never supervises a factory.
Capacity confirmed in writing
We do not quote a figure as a slogan. We take your categories, quantities and calendar and answer with a capacity plan that becomes the contract.
Every certification the market asks for
Fibre, chemical, social and quality standards are available on our chain. The applicable ones are confirmed before the order and attached to the production file, lot by lot.
Origin you can prove
On request each garment carries a QR code digital product passport that shows the final customer every origin, written on a blockchain traceability platform.
How capacity is assigned and what controlled really means
A monthly figure printed on a website says very little about whether your order will be ready on the date agreed. Capacity depends on the product, on the construction, on the fabric lead time and on what else is in production in the same weeks.
Capacity is sized on the programme
A tailored jacket, a knitted dress and a jersey programme run on different machines, in different rooms, with different hands. So we do not quote a single number. We take the categories, the quantities per style and colour, the size range and the delivery calendar, and we answer with a capacity plan: which part of our chain the programme runs on, how many lines run in parallel, when the fabric has to be committed and on which dates each delivery leaves. That plan is confirmed in writing before the order and becomes the calendar the production is managed against.
Volume runs in parallel
Large quantities are split across several workshops of the same specialisation, each working from the same approved sample, the same markers and the same quality standard. The brand sees one production, one quality and one delivery. Peak seasons are planned ahead: calendar space for established clients is reserved before the market gets busy, which is why continuity matters.
Capacity is honest
If a date cannot be held with the quality we answer for, we say so before the order, and we propose the split or the date that can. An order is never moved quietly to a lesser workshop because the one planned was full.
Yarn and fabric under our control
Materials are bought by us from the Italian and European mills that supply the best tailoring rooms, or developed with the brand, with the origin recorded at the lot level. Patterns, grading, tech packs and samples are produced under our technical direction, so the industrial sample that goes into production is one we have fitted and approved with the brand.
Making, finishing and the record
Cutting, sewing, pressing and finishing happen in Italian workshops we assign by product and by volume, under written standards and in person inspections. Labelling, tagging, packing to retailer specification and shipping follow, to the brand warehouse or straight to the accounts that ordered. Every lot, every workshop and every inspection is logged, which is what allows us to issue a QR code that proves the origin of the yarn and of the production.
Certifications on the chain
Every certification the market asks for is available on our supply chain: fibre standards for organic and recycled materials, chemical safety on textiles, social compliance in the workshops, quality management. Which ones apply to your programme depends on the product and on the part of the chain it runs on. We confirm them before the order and attach the certificates to the production file. We do not print a list of logos on this page because a logo without the lot behind it proves nothing to an auditor. See supplier audits and code of conduct compliance.
What a brand can read before it signs
Four pages that explain how we produce, what we certify and what stays confidential. Each is written for the sourcing manager who has to defend the choice of a producer.
From the first email to the first delivery
- Step 01Categories, quantities, calendar
You send what you make, in what quantities, on what dates, and the tech packs if you have them. We reply with a capacity plan and a written scope.
- Step 02Confidentiality signed
Our confidentiality agreement, or yours, is signed before any design is shared with our team or with the chain.
- Step 03Development and samples
Patterns, grading and samples under our technical direction, fitted with the brand, until the industrial sample is approved.
- Step 04Pre production sign off
A sample made in the production workshop, in the production fabric, signed off by the brand before anything is cut in volume.
- Step 05Production on the plan
Lines run in parallel on the agreed calendar, with inspections at materials in, in line and final, and a report before shipment.
- Step 06Delivery and record
Packed to retailer specification, shipped to the warehouse or the accounts, with the certificates and, if requested, the digital product passport.
Nothing in the process requires a brand to meet or to know our workshops directly. Visits to the Milan studio are welcome at any time.
One contract, from the yarn to the campaign
Riccitelli Milano produces the collection and, if the brand wants it, the images that sell it.
The same team that follows the garments from the fabric to the packed order can produce the campaign, the lookbook and the launch from Milan, on the same calendar and under the same confidentiality. For brands producing in Italy from abroad, this is the shortest path between the first sketch and the first sale.
The questions sourcing teams bring us
- Capacity"Every Italian producer we contacted was fully booked or never replied."
We answer every qualified request with a written scope, and the capacity for a programme is confirmed before the order. Calendar space for established clients is reserved ahead of the season.
- Scale"Workshops that made our samples beautifully could not make four thousand of them."
Volume is a different physical question. Large quantities run in parallel across several workshops of the same specialisation, from the same approved sample, under one standard and one calendar.
- Origin"We need to prove where the garment was made, not just print the label."
Every lot and every stage is recorded by our team. The certificates travel with the production file and the QR code passport shows the customer every origin.
- Continuity"Quality was fine on the first order and drifted on the third."
The same approved sample, the same markers and the same inspections apply to every repeat. Workshops are reviewed each season on dates kept, defect rates and consistency.
- Exposure"We are leaving a supply base that has become slow and exposed to tariffs."
A programme can start as a second source for a core category and grow season by season, with the brand keeping its existing supplier while it does.
Frequently asked
Can you produce thousands of pieces per style in Italy?
Yes. Volume is split across several workshops of the same specialisation working from the same approved sample and the same standard. The capacity for your programme is planned on the categories, the quantities and the calendar, and confirmed in writing before the order.
How many garments can you make per month?
It varies with the product and the season, which is why we do not publish one figure. Send us the categories, the quantities per style and the delivery dates and we answer with a capacity plan for that programme.
Do you own the factories?
We control the chain and we answer for the result at every stage. The workshops, mills and specialists we produce with are assigned by product and by volume, work under our standards and inspections, and stay confidential: they are part of the service, not a list we hand over.
Can you be a second source for a brand that already produces elsewhere?
Yes. Many programmes start as a second source for a core category, with the brand keeping its existing supplier. We match the approved sample and the quality of the first source, and we plan capacity so the two can run side by side.
What certifications does your production have?
The certifications the product and the market require are available on our chain: fibre, chemical, social and quality standards. We confirm the applicable ones before the order and attach the certificates to the production file, lot by lot.
Will my order be moved to another workshop if you are full?
No. Capacity is confirmed before the order and the workshop is assigned in the plan. If a date cannot be held with the quality we answer for, we say so before the order and propose the split or the date that can.
Are you a factory or an agent?
Neither in the usual sense. We are the producer: a brand hires Riccitelli Milano and we produce the collection on a chain we control, answering for the result at every stage. There is no factory to deal with behind us and no margin added to a factory price.
How long does production take?
It depends on the categories, the fabrics and the fitting rounds. The capacity plan sent before the order carries the real dates for your programme, from fabric commitment to each delivery, and those dates are the ones we are held to.
Do you also produce for smaller brands?
Yes. The same chain takes a capsule or a first collection with the same standards at a smaller scale. See our pages on low minimum order production and capsule collections, and send the project form in either case.
In which language do you work?
English. Italian and Arabic are also spoken in the studio. Scopes, fitting notes, reports and contracts are written in English.
