Why a new brand cannot simply find an Italian factory
Italy produces through hundreds of small specialists, each exceptional at a single thing. A mill in Biella weaves the cloth. A pattern maker in Milan drafts and grades. A knitwear workshop in Carpi makes the jumper, a leather atelier in Tuscany makes the jacket, a tailoring room in Lombardia makes the coat. Six styles can easily touch five suppliers in five places.
That fragmentation is exactly what makes the quality possible and exactly what makes producing here difficult from outside. Most of these workshops have no sales function, work through long standing relationships, and will not take on an unknown brand with an unproven pattern and an uncertain quantity. It is not gatekeeping. It is that a short, badly specified order costs them a day they cannot recover.
What we do instead
We hold the network together so a brand deals with one team instead of twenty workshops. One quotation, one calendar, and one person answering when something needs a decision.
Practically, that means we take your idea and turn it into something that can actually be built. We develop the product, source the cloth and the trims, draft and grade the patterns, produce the samples, correct them with you until the garment sits the way it should, and then run production and quality control through to packing and delivery. You can hand us the whole journey or bring us in for a single stage.
The first collection, step by step
Brief and direction. Where the collection is going, who it is for and what it has to say. We look at references, archives and fabrics before anything is drawn, and we build a collection plan: how many styles, which categories, how the range holds together.
Materials. Weights, finishes and hands are compared against what each garment has to do, then bought from the Italian houses that supply the best tailoring rooms in the world. Trims, linings, buttons and labels are sourced alongside the cloth, tests are run, and quantities are booked in time so production never waits on a delivery.
Technical development. Flats are drawn to scale with every seam and closure. First patterns are drafted by hand or in CAD, cut and checked, then graded across the full size range. Everything lands in a tech pack carrying materials, trims, the measurement chart and the construction, which is also the document that makes your collection repeatable next season.
Sampling and fit. The first prototype is built, tried on, measured, pinned and corrected. A second sample confirms the changes, the size set proves the grading, and the approved sample becomes the reference the whole production has to match. See sampling and prototyping.
Production. Quantities, sizes and dates are set against the delivery you promised. Cloth is laid and cut, garments are assembled where that product is made best, every piece is checked against the approved sample, then pressed, labelled, tagged, packed and shipped.
Starting at a scale that makes sense
Most emerging brands should not launch a full season. A capsule collection of eight to twenty five styles is faster to market, cheaper to carry and far easier to sell into stores, and it tells buyers a clearer story than a scattered range.

What to prepare before you write to us
You do not need a finished tech pack. Bring whatever you have and we tell you what is missing. What genuinely helps is a clear idea of the product, some visual references or sketches, an indication of the categories and the number of styles, the quantity you imagine, the delivery date you are working towards, and the positioning you are aiming at, because the cloth and the construction follow from that.

How long does a first collection take?
Usually three to six months from approved design to delivered production, depending on the categories, the fabrics and how many fitting rounds are needed. Cloth availability is the most common variable, so materials are booked early. Tailoring and leather need more development time than jersey or knitwear.
What does it cost to produce a collection in Italy?
It depends entirely on the product, the cloth, the construction and the quantity, which is why any number quoted before those are known is meaningless. Send the styles and the quantities you are working with and we come back with what it takes to build them, where they would be made and on what calendar.
Do you work with brands outside Italy?
Yes. Most of the brands we produce for are based outside Italy and come here for the making. The whole process runs in English, samples and corrections travel, and fittings can be handled remotely when a client cannot be in Milan.
Who owns the patterns and designs you develop?
You do. The designs and the patterns we develop for your brand belong to you, and your collection is produced exclusively for your label. We treat every relationship with full discretion.
