Ecommerce and still life photography, Milan

Product images that sell the collection online

On model, ghost mannequin, flat lay, still life and details. The whole collection shot in one standard, retouched, named and sized for your online store and marketplaces.

Ecommerce photography is where most sales are decided and where most brands save in the wrong place. We shoot it with the same crew and the same eye as the campaign, so the shop looks like the brand.

Why Milan

Why a campaign made in Milan looks different

One standard for the whole collection

Same light, same distance, same colour, from the first look to the last, this season and the next. The shop reads as one brand, not as ten shoots.

Colour that matches the garment

Fabric colour is calibrated against the physical sample. Fewer returns, fewer complaints, and a true made in Italy product shown as it is.

Files ready to upload

Named by SKU and colourway, sized for your platform and marketplaces, with alt text if you want it. Delivered in a structure your team can use the same day.

Campaign and ecommerce from one production

When we shoot both, the models, crew and fittings are shared and the ecommerce set costs a fraction of a separate day.

Ecommerce photography, in depth

What ecommerce fashion photography has to deliver

Product photography for an online store is judged by one number: conversion. Every choice below, from the light to the file names, is made for that number.

On model, ghost mannequin, flat lay and still life

Ecommerce fashion photography in Milan with our team covers the four formats a clothing shop needs. On model on white, with the full look and the walking or three quarter frames the product page expects. Ghost mannequin photography for garments that have to show their construction without a body, built from two or three frames and assembled in post. Flat lay clothing photography for knitwear, denim, tees and anything that reads better laid out. Still life for accessories, bags, shoes and details. The brief decides the mix per category, and the shot list fixes the number of frames per product before the day is booked.

Consistency across the whole catalogue

The reason catalogues look cheap is inconsistency: a different grey between two products, a model standing closer to the camera in one shot, a crop that changes between categories. We set the lighting, the camera distance, the pose list and the retouching standard on the first day and keep them for every product and every drop that follows, so a new arrival photographed in March sits next to a product photographed in January without a seam. Files are delivered named, sized and cropped to the platform, ready to upload to Shopify, WooCommerce or the marketplace.

Volume and speed without losing the Milan standard

A collection of eighty styles in three colourways is two hundred and forty products and more than a thousand frames. We plan the studio day as a production line: steaming and prep station, fitting assistant, stylist for the on model block, a digital tech checking exposure and crop on every frame, and a retouching team that starts on day one. The brand receives a first batch within days, not at the end, so the product pages can be built while the shoot is still running.

Ecommerce set and campaign from one production

Most of our clients shoot the campaign and the ecommerce set in the same week, with the same models and the same collection on the rail. The lookbook and line sheet for buyers come out of the same days. One production, one fitting session, one set of usage rights, three deliveries. For brands producing with us in Italy, the samples go from the atelier to the studio without a courier in between.

Images that are ready for every channel

Product photography for an online store also feeds marketplaces, wholesale platforms, digital line sheets, paid social and email. We deliver each product in the formats and ratios each channel requires, with a consistent file naming convention tied to your SKU list, so the ecommerce team, the wholesale team and the agency running the ads all work from the same library. Usage rights for models are negotiated for ecommerce and paid media from the start, so a product shot can be used in an ad without a second invoice.

How it works

From brief to delivery, in weeks you can plan around

  • Week 01Brief and count

Number of SKUs, colourways, shot types per product, platforms. We answer with a scope and a schedule.

  • Week 01Standard

A test look sets the light, distance, crop and colour reference for the whole collection.

  • Week 02Preparation

Garments steamed, labelled and sequenced. Models or mannequins booked.

  • Week 02 to 03Shoot days

Studio in Milan, one standard, a fixed number of looks per day, selects checked as we go.

  • Week 03 to 04Post production

Retouching, colour calibration against samples, crops per platform.

  • Week 04Delivery

Files named and sized, ready to upload, with the rights record.

Timings depend on the number of SKUs. A capsule takes days, a full season takes weeks, and both are scheduled around your launch date.

Production and campaign

One contract, from the fabric to the picture

Riccitelli Milano is a production agency first. We develop and manufacture collections in Italy, and that changes how we shoot them.

The samples are in our hands weeks before the shoot, so fittings happen on the real garment and the art direction grows with the collection instead of arriving at the end. The same project manager follows production and campaign, the delivery dates are aligned, and you sign one agreement instead of five. For brands producing in Italy from abroad, this is the shortest path between the first sketch and the first sale.

What we solve

The problems brands bring us

  • Consistency"Our shop looks like five different brands."

One standard set at the start, documented and repeated every season, with the same crew.

  • Returns"Customers return because the colour was not what they saw."

Colour is calibrated against the physical sample under controlled light, and checked before delivery.

  • Time"The shoot was fine, then we spent two weeks renaming files."

Files arrive named by SKU and colourway, sized per platform, in the folder structure your team uses.

  • Budget"Ecommerce photography is where we were told to save."

It is where the sale happens. We make it efficient by shooting it with the campaign, not by lowering the standard.

  • Made in Italy"Our product is made in Italy but online it looks like everything else."

Detail shots of fabric, stitching and finishing, and still life of the making, give the claim something to see.

Questions

Frequently asked

Do you shoot on model or on mannequin?

Both, and often mixed within a collection. The brief decides which products need a body and which need the shape alone.

Can you match our existing ecommerce standard?

Yes. Send reference images and we reproduce the light, crop and background so new products sit next to the old ones.

Do you deliver for marketplaces as well?

Yes. Sizes and backgrounds for your own shop and for the marketplaces you sell on are part of the delivery.

Where do you shoot?

In studio in Milan. For brands producing with us, garments go from the atelier to the studio without shipping.

How fast can you deliver?

It depends on the number of SKUs. The scope states the schedule, and rush deliveries can be planned for launch dates.

Can you also shoot accessories and leather goods?

Yes. Still life, flat lay and detail photography for bags, shoes, hats, scarves and packaging.
